Lynn Louise Wonders, LPC, CPCS, RPT-S presents this 2 hour recording of a formerly live online interactive training webinar. This is an introduction to a child’s brain development and how a child’s behavior and expressions can be better understood and addressed with this understanding. This 2 hour webinar is an excellent first step to understanding the basics of the more complex field neuroscience in relation to treating children in play therapy.
After taking this training, participants will be able to achieve the following learning objectives:
1. Describe the basics of brain development and brain function in babies, toddlers and young children.
2. List 3 easy play-based models for providing essential psycho-education to children, their parents and teachers in order to provide easy understanding of why a child may be struggling with behavioral concerns or emotional “melt-downs.”
3. Explain how to utilize both CCPT and facilitative play therapy to gain an understanding of what the child is experiencing and how that might be connected to brain development and functioning.
